Sources for exploring majors and scheduling classes:
The General
Catalogue is available on line, and it includes the information that you will need to
do research for the exploration of majors assignment, including the requirements
for various majors. The Catalogue homepage also includes links to the spring course schedule
and to the on-line course
catalogue, which provides brief descriptions of courses for you to cross check courses
that you are interested in.
Instructors' student
evaluations are available on line. Many instructors' classes are not included,
through no fault of their own. For example, I have taught a workshop for all the
teachers in composition, and that training program does not use the standard course
evaluation.
You also have a wide array of learning resources at your
finger tips:
The
First-Year Center provides advising, opportunities to explore majors, and other
support programs.
The University of Arizona Writing Center
provides peer tutoring and links to on-line writing centers.
On-line
readings on learning strategies provide you with advice on how to read more
efficiently, take better notes, and plan your schedule more effectively.
Research Instruction Online covers how
to find books, articles and internet sources.
RIO also includes advice on
researching and writing papers.
RIO will help you get oriented to
the world-wide web.
Other sites on the web can help you analyze sources.
