This is the main homepage for the U of A. From here you can access any University
related information you may need. This page contains the Student Link, student and
faculty phonebook which will allow you to search for email addresses, the catalog of
courses, a map of campus, and a calendar of events. If it's on campus, it is most
likely accessible via this page with only a few clicks of the mouse. Also, remember
that you can always use the
Search/Index button to find what you are looking for. |

POLIS Courses for Fall 1999
POLIS stands for Project for On-Line Instructional Support and is a communication tool
that your teacher may take advantage of to provide you with the opportunity to have online
discussions of text and/or writing related issues and topics in large or small
groups. This link brings you to the Fall 1999 page where you will see a list of
courses and their sections on the right, course title in the middle, and your instructor's
name on the left - if your instructor is using POLIS, her or his name will appear in the
list. You can access your course by clicking on the appropriate link in red. |

A Student's Guide To First-Year Composition
The Student's Guide is your friend... which probably sounds kind of corny, but
it's true. Here is a link to the Guide itself - or parts of it actually -
with information about the First-Year Composition's philosophy, policies, placement
procedures, and courses. Additionally, there are links to material on writing and
revision, a list of instructors' homepages, as well as Guide contest winners and
service learning.

This is the main English Department homepage which provides information about the
different programs housed under its wide roof. There are links to the schedule of
classes, publications, a list of upcoming events, and library use. This page also
contains information about Tucson and Arizona. Additionally, you can find a link to
a list of other English Departments, libraries, and online sources that may be worth
checking out when you are doing your research for either English 107 or English 108.
Lastly, the English Department has a link that gives you a quick way to access a variety
of online search engines.

The Composition Program
This is the main page for information about the Comp Program's philosophy and what it
means for you during your freshmen year and beyond. There are also links on this
page that show you sample syllabi from past semesters, information about the Speaking
About Writing Series, the Student's Guide, as well as a good link to campus
computing information. In addition, this is where you can view the English 101/107 Spring 1999 Final
Exam Study Guide and the English

The Writing Skills Improvement Program
This is a page which provides information about a program designed to meet the needs
of minority and economically disadvantaged students at the U of A. By going to this
site, you can find out information regarding the WSIP mission, student eligibility,

This site provides information specifically geared to first-year students at the U of
